Thou shalt not have contempt for a normal human reaction to the mysteries of existence?

OK, may we clarify a couple of things. I assume that "normal human reaction to the mysteries of existence" includes secular reactions, as well. Yes? And did you mean "have contempt" or just "show contempt?"

I am not sure it covers all nuances, but it will do......

I think that's a really good start. I'm not sure it is adequate, though.

Sure, there are things that are beyond the pale, although I try to be generally respectful. But I am talking about conversations mostly revolving around mere belief in God.

I'm still seeing an issue between organized religion and belief in God. As you know, I take no issue with belief in God. I don't know how many of the seculars hereabouts do but I think most of the grief that the seculars give the believers is not so much about belief in God but in the earthly infrastructure. I appreciate that it's better to be "generally respectful." But I'm not sure whether your thoushalt covers the belief in God only or whether it covers the baggage that goes with it. If I snicker at talking, burning bushes or the confluence of Gemini and Mars or the latest from the Pixie, is that a violation of your thoushalt?
