One step that should be taken immediately is explaining to americans the seriousness of our dependence on foreign oil suppliers.

Oil heat & gasoline are consumed with abandon by most of us. Each family should strive to curtail their consumption. We're treated like 3 yr olds who will have temper tantrums if asked to conserve in any way.

I'll never understand why office lights burn 24 hrs each day in huge urban complexes.
