Fyo,

I'm pretty sure Intel switched to the P4 4x100MHz bus for McKinley (possibly 4x133).

But isn't it 128 bit rather than 64 bit?

Joe

Fyo,

Tenchusatsu PMed me with this:

McKinley bus is similar to the Pentium 4 bus, but not exactly alike. While the P4 bus is 100/133 MHz quad-pumped, McKinley bus is 200 MHz double-pumped. Data transfer rate is the same, but McKinley bus can issue requests faster and achieve higher utilization rates.
Oh yeah, and McKinley bus is 128 bits wide, unlike the 64-bit wide P4 bus. By all measures, the McKinley bus is much better than the P4 bus, but also more expensive to implement.
