No way of making solar work that well yet. It's something else that is being developed though.

petroleum is solar energy. it is what our economy is built around. the cost of change are massive and any change must be evolutionary, not revolutionary.

Tons of government money have been spent on alternatives with little to show for it. In the meantime we have forgotten so much about nuclear technology that it will take decades to recover it. (this told to me by a government scientist) The next most promising technology is the fuel cell which we have been developing for decades and still cannot get much out of. I would build a lot more hydo facilities as one facit of approaching the issue.
