you wouldn't happen to know what the trend was in the btob last cycle... should we expect a pop above 1 some month unexpectedly if there truly is a recovery? Or is this slow upward trend the typical norm?

There are posters on the AMAT thread who know the history better. Anything below 1 basically means business is crummy. When it gets there, I think it will have been long-awaited rather than unexpected. The averaging aspect of the SEMI ratio does tend to low-pass filter it, slowing the trend.

the b2b is a 3 month moving average of orders (bookings) to sales (actual shipments). The best discusisons are over on the amat thread and the semi blood in the streets thread
