Tony Friends of mine at CeBit told me it had shrunk quite a bit. Fewer people walking about, fewer booths...9:11? Possibly a certain number of US sellers did not show goods and fewer attended.

Major mobo makers hace failed to get large orders at CeBit and are selling excess parts, probably that is why the various CPUs and chipsets are dropping.

Comment from the reg here about an Intel chipset being dumped?

Sounds to me like some AMD marketing guy threw a few (mechanical?) samples into his briefcase before catching the plane at SFO.

No doubt! Who's going to be dumb enough to believe AMD would have XP2800+ samples sitting around yet none running? Packages with numbers printed on them. Nothing more.
