Ramsey, I'm fine. I didn't know you kayaked, but sea kayaking has a similar appeal as bicycling so I'm not surprised. I'm glad Laura was on the water. I had to lay off kayaking for a while after I was rear-ended in my car, but I'm back at it. I paddled to and from work yesterday. (I tell this just to impress third parties!) Mosquitos: I remember visiting a "cathedral" on Lake Malawi. It had a corrugated roof. Inside it had the aura of an English church. There were many memorials "To so and so, Bishop of this Cathedral, 18xy - 18xy +( 2or 3). Died of malaria, aged 32 (+ or - 4 yrs.) Eventually, they decided to move the cathedral up to the top of the rift valley, above the mosquito line, and allowed their bishops to mature. I suppose it might have slowed the work of the church, mosquitos for separation of Church and State? This borders on that other discussion concerning colonialisation. Did you know the British Anti-Slavery movement was responsible for Malawi being part of the British Empire? They lobbied for it. Lake Malawi was part of the Great Rift Valley trade route, which was used to transport slaves. Britain had by then outlawed slavery, and British troops were used to stop to it. I read that in a guide book prior to visiting. Pitbulls, bulldogs, poodles, etc: Did you here the one about the two bulls? They were in one field, and the farmer had left the gate open to the neigbouring* field full of heifers. One shouts excitedly, "Look at that! Lets run down and service a couple of cows!"
