You are wrong. The result of the Opium War, was a series of trade treaties, that lowered Chinese restrictions and tariffs on imported goods. The problem is that besides opium (and possibly guns) there wasn't anything the Chinese consumer wanted from the west. Other than opium, what did the west produce (in their colonies) in the 1830's and 40's (and that could be transported by ship) that the Chinese would want?
