Dell Looks Overvalued Next to H-P/Compaq
By James J. Cramer

Is Dell (NasdaqNM:DELL - news) five times better than Compaq (NYSE:CPQ - news)? Are Hewlett-Packard (NYSE:HWP - news) and Compaq together a bother, a pain, a distraction to Dell? Is Gateway (NYSE:GTW - news) not going out of business?

All of these thoughts occurred to me last night as I was preparing to ask questions of a nice reporter from Business Week who follows the Hewlett-Packard story. They occurred to me because Dell, which I own, is five times bigger than Compaq and twice as big as Hewlett-Packard, and, even considering how much I like Dell as a company, that disparity worries me.
