<<And O'Neill recruited from Alcoa for his sound management has turned politician.>>

Really, I don't find that exactly fair. He was cursed with a strong dollar policy, weak stock market, & economy in the dumps when he entered office. A quick & total reversal of the prior policy would have been impossible. As we didn't see a Republican bail-out of Enron, your cries are largely wrong.Though I'm disappointed the manipulation of gold price has yet to be addressed, he has committed to "Let the Markets work", we shall see what happens. At the present time only the SEC but not the CFTC is under his watchful eye. A discussion in currently on going to consolidate the SEC & the CFTC under the Dept of the Treasury. This would go miles toward removal of the banking / brokerage industry oversight of the CFTC!!

The gold market today is much better than under Clinton & I suspect also under Gore who often pushed for sale of US gold reserves.

"The dirty picture gets clearer and clearer all the time."

Richnorth,

What you said above is not only true for "Politicians suck!"
but also almost every topic discussed on this thread lately.

Thats the bad news, and the good news about this has been
replaced with more bad news of an example between your post
and a reply, as follows.

Message from Richnorth...
Politicians suck!
Imagine Greenspan was...
And O'Neill... has turned politician...

Edit - deleted

This reply of ##### points to where the problem really is,
as "Politicians suck!" is the symptom, or better described
as the pus pouring out of an infected tissue that we here
can identify as the corrupted political system 95% of United States.

What caused the infection is the problem to focus on,
not the treatment, as the nature of a recovery must remove
that problem since it's existance would just re-infect the tissue.

Wish i could go more in depth here, but since i'am on Si Jail Watch
i must only mention that when someone make the statement.

"... didn't see a Republican bail-out of Enron."

That this person has near total lack of depth and scope of issues
that allow what we term in a negative way the political system
of "Politicians suck!" yes, but who allows it to happen is really
the problem, and its the voting public that for example is clueless
on what the real facts are, as follows.

Note: Few folks have the insight and ability to both be on top
of stuff like thing, along with ability to understand, so in a way
a place where other's articles and thoughts are obtained is both
good and useless since most will not go there, and most who do
have not what it takes to digest it for knowledge.

Imagine the other main issues debated here where few know
where the correct starting point, or correct approach, is.

Dennis Bernstein's interview with CATHERINE AUSTIN FITTS
“Enron: The Anatomy of a Cover-Up”
...
Dennis Bernstein (of KPFA in Berkeley) recently interviewed her about
the ongoing cover-up, by Congress, the Department of Justice (DOJ)
and the Securities & Exchange Commission (SEC), of the Enron criminal enterprise.

Fitts believes that the most damning evidence in the Enron case
was allowed to slip away so that political damage to the current
administration could be minimized and money stolen protected
from recapture...

THE INTERVIEW:
...
Dennis: ... do the anatomy of a cover-up for us.
If the Justice Department and Congress and the SEC
wanted to nail the Enron bandits and money launderers,
what should they have done, first, second and third,
that they did not do?

Catherine: There are five steps that should have been taken.
All five are based on two fundamental principles...
