At the bottom of the Microsoft link you gave me, they tell you how to move the settings folder after install. Lots of registry changes, with the possibility of no boot. Still ...

I do have a documents and setting folder on the C drive as well, it's just not the one Windows uses. I'm thinking of copying the folder from the f drive into c in dos, then editing the boot.ini file, so it looks into partition 1 instead of 4.

If it doesn't work, I can just reedit the boot.ini to partition 4, and all should be well.

I'm waiting for the weekend to try it. That way I have plenty of time to restore the mess I make if things go wrong. :-)
