I believe that Tom Costello just said that he was told that the low vix may not just signal complacency but could be a function of "infrastructure" problems with the options market. I think he said that there may not be as much interest in options and as an example said that options activity on LU at current levels is much lower than when it was at much higher levels.

Does anyone know if options volume of contracts and in dollar terms has declined and by how much?
