If your theoretical view of the dangers from a nuclear accident were true then no one is living at ground zero in either Hiroshima or Nagasaki, right? And people aren't moving to Chernobyl, right? Get real.

Power plants don't blow up. No commercial nuclear plant has ever released any radio activity that contaminated anything.

As to solar energy. Power is needed 24x7 not just when the sun shines. #reply-17227854 25 thousand cubic yards of waste vs 25 million cubic yards of a year. (wag)

This engineer likes it small and simple. Give me nuke plants.

joseph, my only contention in this, is that nuclear power plants can be built good enough to be safe. The problem is making sure the project is awarded to those that care enough about safety rather than the profit margin. Of course, any business must receive and adequate profit, or the world of commerce would come to a stand still, but when the profit motive advances to the stage of greed, it is time to pull the plug.
