Mani Ahmadi declared that Gottfried's "Jew-controlled media" didn't mean what we all know it meant and that Gottfried was just a poor, misunderstood Austrian chap. The irony is precious. Meanwhile, I was expelled for two weeks for pointing out to Milo--just as Elmer did, just as you did--that plenty of terrible things happen to people, things more terrible than the loss of a nephew. Sharing such personal tragedies with the world at large, a world of strangers and bizarre screen names, is not advisable. Furthermore, people to whom those things happen don't then spew out hundreds of insult posts and taunts in the days following their tragedies, as Milo did. And yet a guy who grossly violated the SI TOU, zofsilence, received a much lighter ban (1 week) than I received for honestly stating my views (2 weeks). This is why SI is becoming a festering swamp of political correctness. Fact is, Mani Ahmadi uses the Moderated Thoughtcontrol thread as a forum for encouraging these kind of attacks on Gottfried and many of what Mani's minions no doubt think of as "Jew-controlled Intel." For many of them, it probably really _is_ a religious war. --Tim May
