I have not solved the problem. I was hoping some kind animal that is using wireless with mac address filtering would wander by. I am using Win 98 on the wireless computer and the computer that I enter the mac address into.
Here is a link to some interesting bathroom reading.<G>

smc.com

You know the reason I even got started on this is because of an article that was posted here a few months ago about the poor security a wireless system created. I have tightened up some of the holes by using 128 bit encryption but without mac address filtering I can not prevent another wireless computer from using my internet connection. I'm not 100% sure that bothers me a whole lot but it probably should.

Thanks for the info from Smart Computing magazine. I do not see anything in my information regarding ssdp.

Dear TheCow-

I have a question that I'm hoping you and the fine members of this thread can help me with....

Btw, I'm running dell with win95, old but functional.

I have a problem with my taskbar, and modifying the contents that show up on it, especially on the right side of the taskbar near the clock. Windows Help tells me how to add/delete/hide/show a few items/icons, but not all....any ideas on how I can add/delete items/icons that Microsoft Help doesn't discuss or display?

TIA, 911
