CIENA launches WavelengthDirector network efficiency programme

Mar 21, 2002 (TELECOMWORLDWIRE via COMTEX) -- Optical networking systems supplier CIENA Corp has launched a new Optical Add/Drop Multiplexing (OADM) software product.

WavelengthDirector is intended to improve the efficiency of a network by adding and dropping wavelengths along any network route. This reportedly leads to a reduction in costs for the carriers implementing the programme.

No pricing information was released.

More Investors have lost money reading lightreading.com than any other publication. They would have been better off reading Mad magazine.
What fibre glut? Just call it an industrywide slump, caused by overcapacity and falling prices.
