I was there once. There were palm trees 150 feet high, monkeys eating eucalyptus, rhinoceri charging our jeep, lions out sunning themselves, penguins everywhere, people with funny hats, entertainers wearing old car tires around their wastes pretending to be on fire, miles and miles of nothing but miles and miles, untracked jungle as thick as jungle, strange noises at night, temperatures in the 100's, the cry of the bull elephant in the backgroun constantly, Miriam Makeba records everywhere and in every corner of the land the cry of "baksheesh! baksheesh! Kaffir wants baksheesh!" rang out.

If that ain't tropical, I don't know what is. Besides they got gold and diamonds and they are markedly closer to the equator than we are.
