Your comment about management is interesting. Some three years ago, I tried to interest them in a technology for lengthening the shelf life of platelets, and generally, keeping down pathogen populations in blood products, particularly non refrigerated (such as platelets), it was not possible to even get beyond the execution of an NDA, but I find that not unusual in organizations in which "techies" are a the helm.
