This is the first stock split announced by a marquee tech name since I don't even remember when, not including the reverse splits of course.<g>

I would interpret it positively.

Every other time they've split their stock, it's peaked.

How quickly you forgot the stock split that Symc just had. Didn't you own it presplit?

Gild just split. Not your type of sector I would imagine.

IMHO, they did it for two reasons:

1) They have solid orders. They said that by EOY capacity will be up to 80% from current 50%.

2) As we go to the fall and good reports come out, AMAT wants their share price to look affordable to the average investor. Spllitting now will do that.
