It's going to raise the cost of the war(and we may need all the resources we can get in a potentially drawn out affair), and harm the rest of the economy. If Steel exporting counties want to stand against us on terrorism by cutting us off, you can bet we'll take them on, and our plants will be running, IMO.

I foolish and counterproductive concept. In a short fast war you cannot make weapons fast enough. In a long protracted war then you can build factories as well as weapons. The key thing is preserve raw ingredients in the home country. That is what Bush & Co. don't care about - strategic stockpiles.
