Jane,

This is true. As long as the greed of individual "investors" outweighs their fear of losing, and as long as the fear of not keeping up with their peers keeps "wet-behind-the-ears" "money managers" playing with OTHER people's money buying with total disregard for fundamentals, then the insiders will certainly keep supplying shares into this irrational demand.

Do you ever notice how even in a year where the average investor gets clobbered, the billionaire's wealth goes up on average? Perhaps they have most of their fortunes out of the market? I've noticed this especially with the market action of the late 1990's. Of course, Greenspan has been bought and paid for since he called the market values in 1996 "irrational". Time and money have a way of clouding the memory, I suppose.

I remain,

SOROS
