I'm the one slipping into FUD? AMD showed a demo of little more than bouncing balls and a couple of office applications. You want to compare that to 4-way systems? This topic was about servers. You think bouncing balls compare to 4-way systems?

I can't believe that an intellectual person like you can bare posting comments like that. Oh wait! you just don't believe in what you say : You already know that booting two different OS is a lot more than bouncing balls.

You kindly keep reminding us that we are speculating on a chip not out yet. So? Intellers didn't give up repeating that McKinley will be 50-100% faster... without having any hard numbers. Can tou link me a post of you were you remind them that McKinley doesn't exists yet?

We now have have 5 hard estimations leaked by AMD:
-20-25% IPC than current socketA platform (mostly due to integrated mem controller)
-10-15% boost with 64 compilators (w/o SSE2)
-higher clockspeed than barton (2800+ = 2.2GHz)
-model 3400+ by the end of 2002
-1400 Specint for a 2GHz 'hammer' don't know wich

What's wrong with speculating on those numbers? Aren't we on a Stocktalk BBS to speculate after all?

Then why are-you trying so hard to hold back hopes on hammer?

At least be consistent...
