For an open and free society like ours which is based on Judaeo-Christian principles and values of democracy, such threats must be taken very seriously. We are brothers in Christ Jesus , we invented Democracy. wonderful fantasy . Judaeo-Christian , very sublime concept that . Islam is going thru the same throws of theological tyranny as Christianity once did in the middle ages. What solved that misery ? Perhaps a little revisting of the pagan humanistic roots and getting away from the messianic/prophet's halucinations and the realization of the clerics, priests and mullahs madnesses for a while . If you want real "idolatry" , you can find by the multitude in of it Islam and Chritianity ...it's the scriptures themselves .
