Do you know what a Condor quisinart is? One windmill has character. 100 windmills over the landscape looks like a blight.

There is little geothermal where people live. Flywheels, hmmmm how many tons...., I mean kilo, I mean mega tons. The ocean environment is hard and the energy density is low.
Generating Gigawatts 24x7 with no interruptions where the people are. If you have to store you lost 1/2, of you have to convert it you lose 1/2. If you have to transmit it hundreds of miles you lose 1/2.

Learn about scale. I took the time to create a place so the less informed can get some. My Tom's Energy Guide.
From a photon to a SuperNova with a piece of apple pie (1.5x10e6 Joules.) in between. watman.com Learn just a tad about what you are talking about.

If you don't understand scale and quantities you can only express ignorant opinions.

Buy the way, I have designed and installed solar heating in one of my homes. This month I have purchased 24 separate items that use 1/4 to 1/5 the energy of the components they replace. I'm not against conservation or applying alternative energy in very limited locations where it may make sense. But that is a pipe dream for urban areas.

As far as I know the following are non polluting: Wind power....

A growing trend in Europe is to place wind power generators in the ocean, perhaps 50 miles offshore. The depth is not too great in the Atlantic and they are out of sight and away from most activities. The array of generators can double as lighthouse markers.
