'Islam isn't in America to be equal to any other faith, but to become dominant. The Qur'an should be the highest authority in America, and Islam the only accepted religion on earth.'

These kinds of statements are now coming to light all around us - and these statements have been and are being made by members of the Islamic community that are held up in a leadership role. It is long past time to face the facts, the elitist media and pseudo-intellectual wishful thinking notwithstanding. It's an outrage.

Interestingly enough, there are all sorts of fatwas issued by the Islamic hierarchy. They have condemned people to death for the most trivial things, some even just for expressing their personal opinion, such as Abu Zaid, and Dr. Nawal A'Sadawi, the famous Egyptian author and champion of women's rights in the Islamic world.

Yet we have not had, as far as I know, a single Muslim authority anywhere issuing a fatwa declaring the 19 terrorists of September 11 (or the subsequent ones) to be Kaffirs or apostates. It is time that it was done to prove that they are different from the so-called terrorists. Otherwise it seems they are all one and the same, but just under a different disguise.

I do recall that Salman Rushdie was issued a fatwa specifically directed upon him. It is highly interesting that the 19 hijackers and their associates and supporters have not been condemned and cast out by Islamic leaders, citing their names. Why is that now? I think the answers are quite obvious.

We must be vigilant, pursue the arrest and prosecution of those who support or preach violence. We must make every effort to see that Islam is not given any special status that differs from the status given to other minority religious or ethnic groups, and by all means not at the expense of the Christian gospel.

Islam is being treated with a respect in America it surely does not deserve. Many elites have told us that we must learn about Islam. No, we do NOT. Some of us will, to come to understand the grave peril we face today, but there is no reason whatsoever that this so-called "religion of peace" must be learned by anyone in America, or by any of our friends, either. Now reading the above I thought of the Israeli Prime Minister merely visiting the Temple Mount which led to Muslims murdering innocent Israelis, man, woman and child; yet when Muslims proposed building a huge mosque right in front of one of Christianity's holiest sites, the Church of the Annunciation in Nazareth, site of Jesus' birth, there was no outcry at this clearly offensive attack on Christianity by Muslims. The Vatican was alone in condemning this blatant provocation. I find these double-standards are sickening.

Great post, Lorne.
