Speaking about ability to hype:

intel.com

That's the real hype. I am not saying that all that
is pure fantasy and is totally non-doable. Everything is doable.
The question is at what cost, in what time frame, and with
what benefits. So far I see that the cost is piling up,
and performance benefits are diminishing. For example,
for transitions between older process generations, the
performance benefits were 2X per step, actually it was
a base for the definition of "generation".
Now, the shift from 0.18 to 0.13 yields only 40%
increase, as per Intel themselves,

intel.com

(see slide 7).

When critically reading these presentations,
it seems pretty apparent that the "Red Brick Wall"
is moving towards our time, and not goes away as
it should be after years of concentrated research,
see slides 3 and 4 of "PaoloISSUS0102.pdf", and as
Intel management wants their shareholders to believe.
