Tony: One way to look at it is that, with these two companies pushing each other like they are, all others probably get left in the dust. Well, IBM is one that can pour on the coals too.

I don't think that will necessarily be the case. We seem to be in a situation where equipment availability (from the likes of ASML or Canon) dictates the schedules, rather than e.g. Intel's R&D. Certainly, there are differences between processes, but equipment availability does seem to have be a powerful leveling effect.
