What a poorly written technical description. Did you mean to say: AMR increases the capacity by increasing the compression ratio? And what capacity are you referring to? Data, voice, users, or erlangs?

Does this mean GPRS will now be able to average better than 30 Kbps in the field?

As anybody remotely knowledgeable of the most elementary basics of GPRS well knows, all the GPRS systems "allow them to use the extra time in the same slot to mix GPRS data in that same slot" .. i>
