Sorry, yes, an eccentric phrasing. I should have just said "slide into". Instead, I reached for the idea of smooshing the ideas together by suppressing the objects of belief. Sorry.

The two are not comparable. When I say "sacred to others", it is a mere indication of something held in the highest regard in some identifiable culture. Your use of "imaginary friend" was a form of ridicule. Well, perhaps we have come to a root matter. In most people's lexicon, something is sacred, even if it only their honor or their family. I am so far from understanding the bristle that it seems inhuman to me........
