It is probably very Un PC not to laugh at jokes like that
no doubt some people would even think it was anti American not to laugh
so the PC thing to do
is laugh, along with every one else
if politically correct means going along with the prevailing sentiments about things
if politically correct means merely being sensitive to diversity
and not mocking things people might hold sacred (to use Neo's word)
then even if you find it funny you need to mention the fact that it is mocking another religion
the ironic thing about that joke was that it appeared today
during a discussion on mocking religious symbols, and the religious in general
that was interesting

I disagree with you on the "mocking Jesus is not tolerated at all" in our culture point. The Betty Bowers (which mocks Christians with a vengeance) site has been linked all over SI. I linked to it on the LWP and I believe it was also posted by Charleymane on Neo's thread just today. And I find it very very funny.

I'm leaving for the night, just wanted to mention it so you don't think I'm dropping out of the conversation here.
