What impressed me about Warren was his email to me this morning. He brought up his previous column, and said he was wrong in it, and felt he was right in his column that we have all read.

I have never had a columnist admit he was wrong

Yes, that email certainly sounded straightforward -- I called it as I saw it, I got more information, I changed my mind. The opinion that Warren now says is wrong is the opinion shared by Kristol and loads of other commentators -- the US is pressuring Israel to appease Arab opinion.

About the only company Warren has at this moment is Debka, who btw say they are under court order not to tell all they know about Thursday's Jerusalem bombing. First time I've seen them say that.

I will be watching Cheney's moves next week with great interest. Will he or won't he meet with Arafat in Cairo? The question of real interest is, has Cheney decided to present Yasser Arafat with a genuine "or else" when telling him to stop the terrorism? Since Arafat's Saladin complex is now operating at full bore, I very much believe that the "or else" will have to be applied to be believed. Arafat won't take the hint from Mubarak in Beirut.
