Most Republicans might want to snip a bit off here, and slow growth over there, but they don't really want to slash government.

The idea that government should not be involved in sex education or education in general or even the idea that the feds should not be involved just doesn't appear on their radar screen. Its not even that they consider it and reject it, like the Democrats they can't even really imagine it.
