They offer a perspective and sometimes insights that can be useful. Of course taking analyst 'advice' verbatim is silly...the biases are well known. That said, I still find it pretty amazing how quickly an apparently reasonable forecast [as opposed to Henry Blodgett AMZN type call] can completely blow up.
Cramer has asserted that analysts will be displaced by investigative journalists because of the bias and recent Enron, etc hits to credability. I would expect some [but not total] shift in that direction.
