Gottfried, you reference the comments of a tarnished president and an evangelical, conservative minister from 40 years ago as support for your comments. I am disappointed.
BTW the minister in question has apologized twice for those comments and so would the ex president were he still around.
In the meantime, please prove to me that the Jews control all the media in this country. I have reviewed the heads of major media in America at least once already this year for some one who made a comment similar to yours so why don't you check it out for yourself. You may be surprised at what you find.

Who says Americans believe that the Israelis are the good guys and that we want to screw the Palestinians? Besides, Gottfried, do you want know what's the telling difference for Americans as they see the Israelis vs the Palestinians..........the Israelis empathized with our 9/11 loss...they sent their condolences and mourned our losses; the Palestinians, with the exception of Arafat, danced in their streets. Who cares that it was not all the Palestinians? How can I feel love and much empathy with a people who are so crass that they laugh at anothers' tragic news? Can you?

Nixon wasn't anti semitic? Let's put it this way, if he wasn't, its cause he was too busy breaking into democratic headquarters to think much about the issue. Nixon was complaining because the Jews may have been infringing upon the real elite and powerful in this country which are the descendent Anglos. Why do you not bring them up in your discussions? They are the ones who are all powerful, who control this country's media and major financial institutions, and have most of the wealth in the US.
Do you know that there has been only one US president who was Catholic; the rest were Protestant and nary a Jew among any of them. And you talk about the Jews controlling this country through the media. Why would you believe that when the facts say otherwise? The real power in this country has been in the hands of the same people for 200 years. Christ, we can't get a woman elected to the presidency, let alone a Jew. Again why would you believe the Jews have this control?

Gottfried, I can't account for every claim made in this country..........I imagine if you attack Israel, particularly from an anti semitic perspective, its possible that you may hurt your career in gov't service.....especially if your immediate supervisor is a Jew.......but possibly, not probably. This is a big country and all our gov't agencies are huge. Its easy to side step a career problem.
Frankly, I think they are exaggerating the situation......its an attempt to show that we are too much in favor of the Jews and its running against our best interests. There are many people who hate the Jews and they have many ways of expressing that hate.
PS: On a positive note, those hundreds of Israeli reserve soldiers refusing to serve in the occupied Palestinian territories are real patriots and have more courage than suicide bombers because they will have to face jail, humiliation and the horde of there compatriots for many years.
I understand their upset and I agree with it. I think Sharon's policies, while impressive in their show of strength, only serve to fuel the Palestinians' anger and postpone any hope of peace.
PPS: I still believe that if I had used any other group in my 4 words expressions I would ended as being maybe clue-less, but not racist.
Not on a thread of American origin.............this is the true polyglot culture.......we are more mixed than a mongrel. ;~)) If we threw around biased or politically incorrect words all the time, we would be in a constant state of civil war. In some schools in our biggest cities, over a hundred different languages are spoken. Its amazing we stay united and cohesive as a nation in the face of all the religions and nationalities calling this place home.
So you would have had a problem if you had accused the Irish or the Germans or the Hindus or the Muslims of controlling the American media. The reason for that is because you are attacking either the Irish-AMERICANS, or the German-AMERICANS, or the Hindu-AMERICANS or the Muslim-AMERICANS, et al. Yup, we are all AMERICANS and to attack one of us is to attack all of us. And you thought the Israelis and Palestinians had problems. <g>
Also, in my mind, controlling something is not pejorative by itself. It’s not because English is L2 for me that I came in all this trouble, but not knowing certain politically correctness subtlety and even after hundreds of post that resulted, I still don’t. So I will no more adventure on this mined field.
I knew that English as a second language was not the problem. Its my impression that you need to look at the way you see things and then back up that perspective or view based on facts, not hearsay or myths or biases. FWIW.
