Herb

Apple Fanatics are just like the Gold Bugs, you live in total Denial of the obvious!

It's not worth arguing with you, because nothing can change your minds.

Maybe someday Apple will make a Golden Apple then you will both be in Shangra la

Herb -

That post was well written and presented an excellent logical argument.

Thank you.

If I might add to your argument, the Vast Majority of investors was buying Internet stocks hand over fist up through early 2000. Why? Because everybody else was. I had half of my investments in government-backed funds at that time, and most of the rest was in bearish funds (USPIX, URPIX, BEARX) and precious metals (NEM, PAAS, BGEIX).

Would I have been better off following the Vast Majority of investors by buying up CSCO and pets.com and Enron? I doubt it. Did the fact that the Vast Majority of investors was shunning precious metals mean that metals were going to disappear? Well, since precious metals have been outperforming all of the other sectors for the past couple of years, I doubt it.

Of course, even now, there are still people who preach that true wisdom lies in following blindly the masses. But I doubt it.
