Thanks for adding the banking system problem to the discussion and agree with what you have pointed out.

The saving of the Japanese were fairly safe as they were insured by the government and now only a portion of these are insured, with devaluation added to the mix - a problem for the citizen to solve.

Good point as to why they are not buying US dollars. Was not aware of the currency counterfeiters in Asia. Certainly am aware of their great capability to counterfeit just about anything in the world and why not currencies.

The American society culture of economic stability is a problem that my generation has generated. My father did a wonderful job of teaching me what went on during the 1930's in this country and how they survived. We have not done a good job of teaching this current generation the lessons of our economic history.

Another thing you pointed out is the business sense of Asians. Anyone who looks at their success in producing products that the rest of world wants has to recognize these people are business wise brilliant.

IMO, the Japanese people will do what is required for survival. They are economically battle hardened!!!!
