The current trend is definitely up, congruent with a recovering (for now) economy, I have no idea when that trend will reverse, but my pure guess is that it is not going to continue up for more than another six months. It is a self "correcting" trend, crude is up almost 30% from its recent low, that is a tax increase on the economy (just as last year crude decline was in essence a tax reduction allowing us to avoid a recession), either it stabilizes and drifts back down, or it may contribute to consumer "retrenching" later this year and early next year as per the second dip scenario. You know where my vote is on that issue.
