The Vietnamese must not be too happy with the way things turned out or there wouldn't be so many of them getting on boats etc to get away from the place, they would be getting on boats etc to get INTO the place.

The biggest mistake in Vietnam was not fighting the war to win it. Fighting it to win it would have meant expanding the war, invading NVN, and probably end up fighting the Chinese like we did in Korea.

Not having the resolve to do this then, probably has an influence on how our enemies behave today. They think that we won't carry things through. They may be right, but that will just lead to more problems, because as long as they believe that we don't have the stomache to do what's necessary, then they're going to continue to do the things they do.
