RtS, 60% of semis bullish means just that 60% have a buy signal. It says nothing about them individually being overbought, as you probably know. And 70+% bullish being overbought for the sector is just one of those rules of thumb. When I think of the semi equipment sector I think more about the bookings just beginning to rise again - notwithstanding already high stock prices. BTW, last 2 cycles bookings plateaued a little less than halfway to the top, stayed there a few months, then rose much further. You can see this best in '99 [green line]

I don't know why this happened and if it will happen again. But let's be prepared for it.
