To me it sounds as though the goal of the German Central Bank is higher share price & they don't care what it takes to get to a higher stock market sell gold or buy the german Blue Chips.

Bundesbank may sell some gold reserves

March 25 2002 at 10:30AM
Frankfurt - The Bundesbank is considering selling a small part of its vast gold reserves for shares, the German central bank's president Ernst Welteke said in a newspaper interview published on Monday.

"We must consider in the medium term if we can't convert some of our gold - small volume and without pressurising the market - into securities," Welteke told the daily Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung.

The bank was thinking not only of bonds, but "on a share deposit with a good mixture of blue-chip shares and shares listed on the Euro-stoxx-50," he said.

The aim of such a move would be to manage the bank's portfolio of gold and currency reserves more efficiently in the future, he said.

The Bundesbank has roughly 3,500 tonnes of gold worth some 35 billion euros and a further 50 billion euros in foreign currency reserves, the newspaper said.

Separately, Welteke said that the European Central Bank (ECB) was likely to pursue its current wait-and-see stance on interest rates for some time.

As head of the German central bank, Welteke sits on the ECB's governing council, the body responsible for setting euro-zone interest rates.

The ECB could "pursue its steady-hand policy on rates for the foreseeable future," Welteke told the newspaper. - Sapa-AFP

E, if the bundesbank announcement fails to depress the price of gold, it may be an indication that there is significant buying of gold at these levels.

There is much truth in the saying that

"the threat to execute a deed is worse than the actual execution of it." (here, threat precedes execution.)

But in the sale of gold by the central banks, the threat comes only after the sale of the gold.

However, the sellers get double mileage by issuing the threat after the executing the sale.

And this is because the sale of gold on the quiet (= "unknown" supplies) depresses the pog, and when the pog rises again, it gets slammed by the (empty) threat to sell the (non-existent) gold. Brilliant!!!

Deutche Bank is in serious trouble. Time to pay up.

Its JP Morgans partner in Europe. The guys that they work with to manipulate the price down, they must be trying to stick the Germans holding the bag that way US courts will have a more difficult time to get at the answer. Silver shorts are all over in Europe too.

A tear for a smile i got from your recent posts E.C.

The smile is that today you sound like one that came out of
the closet wearing your GO GATA button on your dress :o)

Seriously, your posts today are echo(s) of Gata Bill Talk(s)
that caused my tear since they would have been Grrrrr-ate
if posted on my GPM News thread.

Guess i'am just gonna have to cut & paste them with url.

Actually a second tear has just fallen, not for me, but for others.

The GATA similiar talk today on this thread without a mention
of the Gata Bill Gangster Inc by you a few others might have been
for nothing for new folks new to gold and silver if the following
is a reflection of where they went rather than here :o(

O well, the Power of...

If you want a list of symbols for precious metal investing,
silver & gold, the following thread is doing very good.

Please click below url and see if you recognize any posters
that you can ask for a list. If not, then post a message to the
"Its my Party" of thread and ask, but if you get no reply
then that will be a signal that the folks there are quite serious
about what they do and realize that giving out a list is not
the manner in which they conduct "business" as its a 2 way street
with lots of research and opinions exchanged as equals.
If this is not what you seek, then simply back up about 100 posts,
or a few weeks, and use the Si feature View Next 10
collect the symbols being mentioned with note of buy/hold/sell.

Note finally, unlike the Zeev Turnip threads these guys are not
of a short, as in minutes, trading these companies and while
they do take profits the attitude there is that we are in the start
of a bull market for both gold and silver.
