I'll revisit my stance when I hear that the Big S not only paid a visit to the town, but was rebuffed... until then I fear I'm relapsing into prejudice, not to mention derisive scorn (mixed with astonished but sincere laughter).

Not unlike my reaction to the councils, really. It's hard to take seriously a po-faced sign saying that 'Southwark is a nuclear free zone' [equivalent, maybe - TriBeCa is a nuclear free zone]. Like, wow - this council has *not* got an independent nuclear deterrent? Gosh. There's a provocative stance.
Or is this supposed to stop the effects of a nuclear explosion over the river in Whitehall...? And it never stopped trainloads of waste going through anyhow <g>
But a sign that says "Satan is bad and not welcome here"... joy.

It seems to me that telling satan he's not welcome might attract his attention. After all, he is a bit if a devil, isn't he?
