Matt, that is the hard question, when to sell. Obviously we crank out on a regular basis cheap stocks that make mega gains, then the question of how much/how long to ride them.

I have no real answer, mainly due to the fact that I trade in tax advantaged (401k, Roth IRA) and regular taxable accounts, like with futures & options.
I just make an assessment when the time arrives, usually I end up selling too soon, too cheap.
I used to be much better at figuring the apex of a stock, but the market has changed a lot in the past year.

Some of the rats, like INVN & RACN, are so "special" that I hang on as long as possible, others I just trade pops.
Which was a big mistake with ITRI, as one example.
(it is now $30, I was in around $4 out at $10)

I still trade it, but obviously selling it was a momentary lapse of reason.

So, there is no right answer for selling, and if anyone tells you there is, run, don't walk, away from them...

The important thing is the idea here is to get in early, and that means at a low cost to value ratio, and add on dips, as per the original ratbuyplan, which has served this thread well.
