The Koran is a book that was transcribed from an oral tradition and as such has many interpretation as the prophet was illiterate, married into money and then expanded on his aspiration by waging war on other tribes and calling any opponent leader a "false" prophet who needs to be killed ............ from there the notion of "Allah is Great" as a battle cry ............. he also used the Christian notion of forgiveness to take control of the remaining tribes from there the notion of "merciful" all this has nothing to do with the interpretation of the Koran or those believing in Islam As a matter of fact the way the Koran is written and spoken leaves very broad swaps free to very contradicting toughs. ....... including the issue of "martyrs", killing of infidels, or killing of innocent people if Christians or Jews, various punishments, rules towards slaves and more so woman slaves and the list goes on. In any case the present interpretation of the Koran by many Arabs including the Wahhaby (spl?) sect (e.g. Saudis) is wrong and used as an excuse to wage war against any thing that does not let them get to the power of the Middle Ages and control the world trade and get rewarded by ransom on those international trades. Remember the notion of OIL EMBARGO and when it started? Now they want it all Israel is only the experimental ground for a much larger war like Spain was before WWII rest my case on this issue
