Cisco is kicking butt in the LAN Telephony market Despite being a mere three years old, the LAN Telephony market reached approximately one billion dollars in 2001, with sales (tracked by stations and revenues) reaching triple what they were the year prior, according to In- Stat/MDR (http://www.instat.com). The high-tech market research firm reports that, as large enterprises continue to realize significant returns on investment, customers become comfortable with the reliable transmission of voice over an enterprise data network, and large manufacturers like Cisco make the technology a priority, the market will quadruple by 2006. Considering the current state of the U.S. economy, and the fact that the LAN Telephony market almost didn't exist as little as three years ago, reaching the billion dollar range, is a remarkable feat. This is interesting and on point to your statement. Sagawa was the first to predict the downturn according to this article, so maybe that gives him some credibilty. What do you think Jake and others? "On Monday, Bernstein analyst Paul Sagawa predicted that the trough in telecom-equipment spending is near and that spending will accelerate in the second half of 2002.
