I was in Trader Joe's (a market) the other day and I see this guy walking up and down the isle talking to himself. Finally, upon close examination, it is revealed that he is talking to someone on a cell phone, oblivious to the looks of other patrons. My friend relates a similar story to me about seeing the top government official where he works doing the same thing as he walks across the campus. I mention to my wife, "You know, in 30 years it will be impossible to tell if someone is schizophrenic by simply looking. Talking to people that aren't present will become a socially acceptable thing to do."
