Arnie It all has to do with clarity on VOIP (voice over internet protocal) Kinda like the Sprint commericals...you don't want to "flour the kids" due to static. VOIP is important to video conferencing etc. since clarity is the key to everyone understanding one another. Echo and static has been a problem since the beginning of electronic communication........ever sit in the crowd when the loud "feed back" comes thru the speakers micophone? Same concept just a different application. Ken
