Even the Arab members of Israeli Congress, like Ahmed Tibi and Azmi Bishara, call for Israel's eventual destruction. Bishara's on trial now for doing so.

The only prominent Palestinian that really seems to be supportive of Israel is Sari Nusseibeh, but he's more of a writer and orator than a politician, I believe.

Z, I don't know the internal politics of Palestine but if what you say is true, then maybe a peace plan in the way such a plan is thought of currently may not be the way to go.

People get a lot less violent and obstuctionist when they have something to lose. Right now, the Palestinians feel they are the have-nots. It won't be a very popular plan but I think we need to get them to an economic level where getting a new car becomes more important than blowing up a Sbarro in Tel Aviv.
