we are talking about specific article. Every company (including amd and intel) would try to put their own spin on numbers and that is why amd is quoting windows-based.
But regardless of that my point was not that we should not talk about non-windows market but rather that we should not mix apples and oranges and that is exactly what that specific article did.

If you want to include Intel's X-box sales, you should probably include Sony's playstation CPUs (and Motorola's Mac CPUs) in market share calculations.

The addition of the X-box units has given Intel the opportunity to proclaim some market share gains. Will you consider it a loss of desktop market share if Intel loses the X-box business to someone else?

Will you continue to include the X-box units in the "total?"
