That's a different argument. I simply wonder why you'd label something a "crime" -- a rather strong allegation to me -- when the Fed could argue that supporting the market MIGHT, in fact, fall under their mandate in certain extraordinary situations. Mind you, I don't know whether it would be smart policy or not (my guess: not), but I just thought there was some darker meaning to your choice of words. In the end, you were just using a word that I wouldn't have chosen, nothing more.
