Hi Dave,

With regard to Apple's Maine deal, this is no longer a sure thing. I posted a link dated Feb 21st about this (#32255):

quote.bloomberg.com

Essentially, Maine is having budget problems.

King, an independent, has proposed spending less on social services such as programs for the sick and elderly to compensate for a revenue shortfall of about $250 million in the current two-year budget. At least some of the money earmarked for laptops may go toward those programs instead, state lawmakers said.

Note in the article that Maine would have been the first to have such a program. I did notice (to my dismay!) that the local junior college (at which I am taking a Chinese night class) just bought a lab full of Macs (the other labs seem to be full of PCs, so it's probably a graphics design lab or something).

Regards,

Steve

Dave

Great, but is it a new computer system or just an upgrade from a previous Mac/ Apple system.
